Everybody wants to save money.
Pet peeves
Do you have a pet peeve? One of mine is the telephone trees that never get you to what you want when you call a business or a medical office. My doctor's office opens at 8AM and when you choose the option "leave a message for the nurse" you can't do it until they actually get to the office and turn on their answering machine! Even though the choices on the menu give you that option.
Another pet peeve is all the people who buy brand new automobiles with faulty electrical systems and you never know which way or when they are going to turn because their turn signals don't work!
Won't you share yours with me?

My first full size quilt

This is my first full size quilt. It was a wedding gift for my youngest son and his wife. I spent six months every afternoon quilting it and then shipped it to them by UPS. Wouldn't you know it, it got stuck on a truck out for delivery and, very uncharacteristically for UPS, took four days to get to them. Boy was I sweating it- totally irreplaceable if it had been lost.
#4 and #5
I can't believe how many giveaways there are.
Here's one for patterns: The Quilted Fish
and one for a baking pan: Bakerella

Photography
One of the things I like most about reading other blogs is the amazing photographs some people take. It's almost like taking a vacation with them when they share their beautiful photographs from their wanderings. While I am not a great, even good photographer, I still like to record images from where I've been. Here are two from a very special trip to Georgia: Andersonville Cemetery and Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter with me and a friend.

Look how close together the headstones are. It's because the soldiers were not buried in caskets, they were simply laid shoulder to shoulder. Clara Barton did a remarkable job of recording names and locations.

Last quilt
This is the last quilt I finished - a wedding gift for my oldest son and his wife. Can you find the "humility block? aka mistake!! This is not the last quilt I have to make - I think I might have more UFO's and WIP's than any other quilter. Trouble is, the other things I love to do, reading and cooking, cannot be done while I quilt so it is always a choice I have to make. The thing I hate most, cleaning house, is not even an option - I will quilt and make it an excuse not to clean. Anyone else feel the same? Unfortunately, or fortunately, company is coming so I have to clean. That is about the only time my house gets really clean!
Giveaways
There are lots of fun giveaways out there on quilting blogs and I will try to link here to each one I find.
I have come back (just bet you're thrilled)
I accidentally deleted my original blog so have had to start all over. If anyone knows how to retrieve original posts I would be most greatful for your help.
